TR7 V8 Convertible 1980 For Sale RHD (UK) (£13.5k or close offer) POSTED 31/5/23
1980 Triumph TR7 V8 DHC finished in gold metallic with tan check trim and Black Mohair hood. This car boasts an impressive list of upgrades fitted by ourselves. A brand new crated 4.6 litre engine was fitted in 2015, approx. 1500 miles ago. Spec also includes a 4 barrel carb, tubular manifolds and stainless exhaust, alloy rad and electric fan. The gearbox is the R380 uprated 5 speed with shorter remote and the prop is one of our uprated UJ type The suspension has been uprated all round with uprated springs, KYB shocks and poly bushes and the steering benefits from our EPS system. The brakes are uprated with 4 pots and vented discs being fitted to the front and the rear is one of our rear disc conversions. It is fitted with our uprated master cylinder and servo along with braided flexi hoses. The axle ratio is the very rare 2.84:1 with an LSD and fitted alloy backplate.15 inch Compomotive wheels are fitted. The car also has electric windows a Kenwood sound system, hood cover, footwell mats and an S&S carpeted boot trim. You can see from the photos that the battery has been relocated to the boot area. The engine has been rebuilt with new pistons at +0.040″, rings, bearings and reground crankshaft. New water pump and lapped valves. Rebuilt carburettors, new jets, floats and mounting kit, set up on a rolling road by a local motorsport garage. Magnatronic Ignition has been added. The brakes have Capri 2.8 discs and callipers on the front and have been reconditioned and the handbrake cable replaced. Wheels replaced with refurbished factory alloys and new tyres. New radio included and the car is registered for historic tax and Mot’d until May2024. Just recently replaced the clutch. Has since done mileage in hot conditions with traffic trouble free. I enclose some details of this car, which I have owned since 2009, bought with 177 miles on the clock after being rebuilt (MoT from April 2009 shows 174 miles). The previous owner prior to the ‘nut & bolt’ rebuild in 2008/09 owned the car from 1987 to 2008. It has a 245 bhp blue-printed engine built by Real Steel of Cowley (Middx), is immaculate (as you can see from the photos) and has a very low mileage (currently under 4000). I have compiled a ‘spec sheet’ to list the work carried out on this car, and MOT to verify the on-going mileage (is 1982 registered, so will be tax exempt from next year). It has 4-wheel disc brakes, so you can use the performance on tap – and still brake effectively in modern traffic, together with a high ratio back axle for more relaxing longer trips. email
